The Mydel Choir in Macclesfield has recently been running singing workshops for young people, and plans to start a Youth Choir this September. The choir will be for young singers aged between 8 and 14 and rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings between 6.30-7.30pm at Broken Cross Methodist Church.
The Mydel Choir in Macclesfield began as the Dormel Singers in 1947. It is celebrating its 70th birthday this year with a concert at Macclesfield Methodist Church on 17 June at 7.30pm. The choir is a charity and performs regularly for local charities and other groups; their repertoire includes songs in a variety of genres including folk, jazz, musicals and pop.
