A Safe & Happy Place for Donkeys

The Donkey Sanctuary at Manchester is holding an open day on Saturday 20 July between 10am and 3pm, and entry is free. Visitors will be able to get close to the herd of 18 donkeys that have been rescued from perilous situations over the years, and are now being looked after. There will also be stalls, a barbeque and a dog show. This charity does amazing donkey welfare work all around the world – you can support it by adopting a donkey online, like the two handsome creatures shown below. The Donkey Sanctuary has several other UK locations including Sidmouth, Belfast, Birmingham, Leeds and Ivybridge – there is also one near Buxton which is not open to the public but occasionally holds events. The Manchester Donkey Sanctuary is at Green Fold, Abbey Hey M18 8RJ – for opening times see thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk
