The FIS provides a range of support for prospective parents, parents, carers, professionals and children and young people in Cheshire East right through to their 20th birthday.
Description
Surveys show that 75% of parents and carers say there are times in their lives, or the lives of their children, when they need access to additional information or support. As a result, they are often unable to make informed choices on childcare and other services to meet their needs.
To support this need for information, advice and guidance, the Local Authority has a Family Information Service (FIS). In addition to information already available on childcare and related services, the FIS provides a range of support for prospective parents, parents, carers, professionals and children and young people in Cheshire East right through to their 20th birthday.
The Family Information Service provides information, advice and guidance in any of the following areas:
- Looking for childcare or information about childcare options
- Support for children with additional needs and/or a disability Information on parenting support for babies to teenagers
- Support on how to access Working Tax Credits, Childcare Vouchers, Nursery Education Grant or advice on flexible working
- Help and advice on a range of subjects or information about organisations who can provide support to families coping with difficulties relating to substance misuse, bullying, bereavement, addiction, homelessness....... and much more.
