The University of Manchester Reseach - Baby Triple P Positive Parenting Programme
Details
Manchester
Description
The Parenting and Family Research Group (PFRG) is a collaboration between the Universities of Manchester, UK and Queensland, Australia. The group aims to promote the wellbeing of families and children. We do this primarily by conducting research to establish the best ways of enhancing the skills and confidence of parents in order to improve parenting and prevent behavioural and emotional problems in children.
Our research revolves around the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program. PFRG studies aim to establish the scientific basis of specific aspects of Triple P intervention and dissemination. This includes rigorous evaluation of new programme developments. We collaborate with research groups working in similar areas around the world, as well as colleagues in universities and services across the UK. A focus of the PFRG is to contribute to policy development that may affect the family. This is achieved by dissemination of research findings and by consultation with local and national government and policy advisers. Some of our current research includes evaluation of Triple P for parents with babies and parents of children with asthma. Please see our website for more information about taking part in our research.
